Emergency Dentist Brisbane CBD
If you need an emergency dentist in Brisbane City, we provide prompt assessment and care for urgent dental problems — whether it’s pain, swelling, dental trauma, a broken tooth, or a lost filling/crown.
We welcome new and existing patients.
If you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, rapid facial swelling, fever with worsening swelling, or uncontrolled bleeding — seek urgent medical care immediately (call 000).
Dental implant emergencies
Dental implants are very reliable, but urgent issues can still happen — and they’re best assessed early to protect the implant and surrounding tissues.
Contact us urgently if you have:
-
A loose implant crown/bridge or something that has “come off”
-
Pain, swelling, bleeding, or discharge around an implant
-
A fractured implant crown/bridge
-
Food trapping or sudden discomfort around an implant restoration
-
A denture or appliance that attaches to implants that has broken or is unstable
We’ll assess what’s going on and advise the safest next step — which may be tightening/re-cementing a component, repairing/replacing the restoration, or treating infection/inflammation (depending on the diagnosis).
If you’re anxious and you’ve been putting it off
A lot of emergencies start because people delay care — often due to anxiety, past experiences, or fear of judgement. You won’t be rushed or lectured here.
We focus on:
-
A calm, professional approach
-
Clear explanations and options
-
Helping you feel in control of decisions
-
Comfort strategies, with sedation options available for suitable patients
If anxiety is part of why you’ve delayed treatment, tell us when you call — we’ll book an appointment length that allows time to proceed at a manageable pace.
Emergency consultation & examination
Emergency appointments usually start with a focused consultation and examination, which may include:
-
Medical history review (to treat you safely)
-
Discussion of symptoms and what has changed
-
Clinical assessment of the affected tooth/teeth and gums
-
Further tests as needed, including digital X-rays
Once we’ve identified the cause, we’ll explain:
-
What’s happening
-
Your treatment options (including risks/benefits)
-
Costs upfront before any treatment begins
Where possible, we’ll aim to relieve pain/stabilise the issue on the day. Some problems can be treated immediately; others require a staged approach for the best long-term outcome.
Health funds & rebates
We accept all health funds and can provide on-the-spot rebates at the clinic (we’re not a preferred provider). If the treatment required is extensive, we offer payment plans.
How soon can you be seen?
We keep space in our schedule for dental emergencies and will do our best to offer a same-day or next available appointment. Calling early gives you the best chance of being seen on the day.
You can also book online by selecting the next available time. Please note that because we reserve appointments for emergencies, not all urgent slots are shown online — if you need to be seen quickly, it’s best to call us.
I’ve been visiting this practice for quite a few years. The clinic is exceptionally clean, modern, and quiet, and my appointments with Dr Mishari and his assistant have been excellent. He always explains what’s happening, why a treatment is or isn’t needed, and takes genuine care to make sure I’m comfortable. The location is very convenient if you’re CBD based. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
Needing an emergency dentist in Brisbane CBD?
Before you book, you may have a few quick questions about what counts as an emergency, how soon you can be seen, and what to expect at your visit. Here are the answers to the most common questions we’re asked.
What should I do if I’ve broken a tooth but it doesn’t hurt?
Still book in. A cracked or broken tooth can worsen quickly, and early stabilisation can reduce the chance of more complex treatment later.
I think I have an infection — how urgent is that?
Swelling, a bad taste, pus, or facial tenderness can indicate infection and should be assessed promptly. If swelling is spreading rapidly or you feel unwell (fever, difficulty swallowing/breathing), seek urgent medical care immediately.
Do you see new patients for dental emergencies?
Yes — we see both new and existing patients for emergency appointments.
Can you treat me if I’m very anxious?
Yes. Many emergency patients are anxious, especially if they’ve been putting off care. We’ll explain everything clearly, go at a manageable pace, and discuss comfort options — including sedation suitability when appropriate.
I have a dental implant — what if something feels loose?
Book urgently. A loose implant crown/bridge or bleeding/swelling around an implant should be assessed early to protect the implant and surrounding tissues.
How much will it cost?
Fees depend on what we find and what treatment is needed. You’ll be quoted over the phone for the cost of the emergency consultation, examination and any necessary x-rays. At this appointment, once our Brisbane CBD dentist has completed their assessment, you’ll receive an upfront quote before treatment begins.
Do you accept my health fund?
Yes — we accept all health funds and offer on-the-spot rebates.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
We keep gaps for emergencies and will do our best to see you as soon as possible. If you call early, you may be able to be seen the same day.
