Teeth Whitening

When you’re looking for safe and effective teeth whitening in Brisbane, our experienced dentist and dental assistants have your back. With the help of our step-by-step teeth whitening plans customised to your needs, your teeth will be whitened in a safe and gentle way. It all starts with a teeth whitening consultation at our Brisbane city clinic, where we give you honest advice on how to reach the results you want.

Safe and easy take-home teeth whitening

Your teeth whitening journey with us begins with a consultation and a dental check-up. We take pride in offering honest advice, so you know what level of results can be achieved before deciding on any treatment.

In the initial check-up, we make sure everything is healthy and make dental moulds. Then, our experienced dentist will map out a step-by-step plan customised to your needs. We take into consideration all aspects of your dental health, including your dental health history, tooth sensitivity and the condition of your gums.

Finally, you will receive your take-home teeth whitening kit with custom-made whitening trays and tooth whitening gel. Our professional dental carers can adjust the strength of the gel to how you prefer to use it, from overnight treatments to half an hour a day.

Anything that is not tooth will not whiten with the treatment, so if you have crowns or veneers, we can get them changed to match the results. Every step to your complete, white smile will be mapped out at your initial consultation.

How tooth whitening works

Teeth whitening products work by removing deep stains from within the tooth enamel. Think of your enamel like porous pumice stone, and within those little pores stains can get in. Some stains are deeper than others, and therefore results can vary from person to person. In some instances, stains may be so deep that whitening won’t work. In these instances, alternatives like dental veneers may be recommended.

Tooth whitening planned with a qualified dentist is a safe and gentle way to lighten the teeth. Changes to the tooth enamel are not permanent, and treatment times can vary depending on the product used and the starting colour of the teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions

When buying teeth whitening products online, you never really know what you’re getting. Many of the products out there don’t live up to their marketing promises, and in the worst-case scenario, could cause further health issues. A professional dentist will check your teeth and mouth to ensure it’s safe to apply the teeth whitening product. Planning your teeth whitening with a qualified dentist means you can have confidence you’re getting a safe and effective product.

This is something we discuss with every patient in the initial consultation to ensure the process is as comfortable as possible. If you have sensitive teeth, we can adjust the strength of the whitening gel. This way, the treatment will be done over a longer time, making it gentler for your teeth.

Anything that is not tooth will not whiten with the whitening gel. However, when you come in for your initial consult, we can book you in to get any crowns or veneers changed to match your new, white smile.

The results will vary depending on the colour of your teeth at the start. We always offer our honest advice to set realistic expectations. In some cases, dental veneers might be a preferable choice of treatment over teeth whitening.

This will depend on the condition and sensitivity of your teeth, as well as your desired results. However, on average the whitening process will take 2 weeks after your initial consultation and check-up.

Teeth covered in calculus and plaque won’t whiten effectively. We always start out by cleaning up your teeth to prepare for the at-home treatment.

During the at-home treatment, make sure to brush and floss your teeth before putting your trays in. Also, follow the instructions of your dentist. Don’t put in extra gel or leave it in longer! This could damage your teeth and gums. Remember not to eat or drink anything while the gel is in your mouth and avoid heavily coloured foods and drinks during the entire treatment period.

We use the newest teeth whitening products from regulated dental suppliers. They differ from products available online or at the pharmacy as they are strictly regulated by safety guidelines. You’ll also get custom-fitted trays that ensure the tooth whitening gel gets close to the teeth. This makes the treatment more effective and protects your gums.
